Canada's national TV channel, the Business News Network, returned to the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada conference again this year and Magnacom was part of the action.

With more than 20,000 delegates attending, BNN wanted to make sure that everyone saw "the big picture" so they called upon Magnacom to provide large format LCD screens to enhance their live broadcasts from the show floor.
On the main level of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, BNN set-up a 2 camera broadcast studio with fiber feeds to their control room a few miles away.
As TV guests were interviewed live amid the show excitement, not only were they broadcast across Canada, they also appeared on Magnacom's LCD screens adjacent to the open stage studio. This attracted a good size audience, which in turn filled in the background visually, making for a more engaging set.

As a result, home viewers could more appreciate the energy that the PDAC conference brings to the mining and investment industries.
Magnacom also solved an on site distribution feed problem, by dropping in a professional Distribution Amplifier to ensure that the LCD screens delivered a great picture.
When not doing live broadcasts, the Magnacom LCD panels were switched to BNN's cable TV feed (channel 57 on Rogers Cable) so that PDAC attendees could continue to enjoy BNN programming.

Richard Baker, Production Manager at BNN, expressed his appreciation to Magnacom for a job well done. But the real thanks go to Richard for bringing business television to life in Canada and for being a loyal Magnacom customer.
Matt Falkenham, Production Operations Director at Magnacom, along with Josh Pietras, Production Specialist, made sure that the BNN requirements were well taken care of.
